My Inspiration for starting Sweet Escapes:
As I was planning my own wedding, I spent time flipping through the latest copy of Brides magazine but I was bored within moments. Yes, I would get to wear a gorgeous dress, carry pretty flowers, and have my hair and makeup all done, but looking at hundreds of pages of just that was nauseating. I wanted my wedding to be much more than what was expected/ what was in the ‘wedding rule book’- no way did I want to have another predictable wedding! I’m adventurous and fun loving and excited that I’d found the person who feeds my soul. I’m engaged! My fiancée and I were about to start our life together and I wanted to celebrate everything about us- not what a magazine was telling me was trendy.
It’s time to celebrate! If you’re like me; passionate about creating an intimate, once in a lifetime escape with your dearest friends & family, then you’ve come to the right place. I too went through all this, and I understand the frustration of clicking on website after website of intimidating & impersonal destination planners. I attempted to plan my own wedding. What a challenge!
In the mess of all the wedding websites and countless bridal magazines that didn’t speak or inspire me, I’ve decided to do it on my own. I know there are more out of the box thinkers who want their wedding to reflect their style, their crazy perfect relationships, and be an inspiration to their guests to again fall in love themselves, and witness the commitment of your love to each other.
